My dad invited my family to San Diego a few weeks ago - amazingly we decided to go! Our first trip as a family of four and first trip since Hawaii. In retrospect, the trip was a ton of fun! I am so glad we went. It was a lot of work though...(yes, I have a new found appreciation for my parents who took their 5 daughters touring around Europe...insanity!!)... If you can only imagine, Ryan and I, two kids, a double stroller, two car seats, two suitcases, two backpacks...all in the airport, going through security and boarding a plane. It was quite the site to see - and from all the looks we got, everyone else thought we were crazy too. But to say the least they were both excellent on the plane ride.
We went to the San Diego Zoo (twice), it was amazing! Noah loved it! He ran and ran the whole day long. His favorite animals were the baby giraffe, the elephants, the polar bear swimming in the water and the hippos swimming. I told him that the fish were kissing the hippos and he still talks abou that today. Reagan liked looking at the animals, but for the most part just enjoyed sitting in the stroller being outside.
Sea World was awesome. We made it to all the shows - and since it was the off season there was like no one there! We got the best seats for everything and never had to wait in line. Noah still shouts 'Shamu, Shamu' and he loved the Clyde and Seymour seal show the best. He was just staring wide eyed at all the animals during the show. He even laughed when the seals were waving at us. (Adorable!)
Ryan and I did get to spend some alone time together. On our first night we went hot tubbing at our beautiful hotel and then on our third night we went on a late night date. We walked Mission Beach for a while...and just enjoyed being us. (which we haven't really gotten to do since, i don't think.) But overall, our trip was great! Although I don't think we will be taking the kids any where for a while...I mean, maybe camping next summer...
